Condominium Association and Designations

Below are some of the agencies and associations available in Ontario for Condominium owners, board members and property managers.

Canadian Condominium Institute There are many publications available to homeowners and board members. CCI offers quite a few through their web-site.

The Real Estate Institute of Canada provides several publications to the condominium industry.

Property Managers can obtain designations from several organizations.  The Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario oversees the designation of Registered Condominium Manager (R.C.M.).  The association is primarily targeted to property managers in the condominium industry.

The Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) is offered by The Real Estate Institute of Canada.  The institute offers real estate agents and property managers a wealth of information and resources.

The Institute of Housing Management focuses primarily on residential rental matters.  The reason for their inclusion here is that their education programs for physical and financial management are quite involved and graduates of this designation are well equipped to manage many types of residential properties.

The Canadian Condominium Institute offers courses to board members to help them run govern communities.
